China Basin-Dogpatch
19th-century cottages, industrial waterfront
Miles:     5.5
Hilliness, scale of 1-5:     1
Terrain:     City streets, rough paved roads
We walk along the China Basin waterfront with its lovely bay views and gritty, 19th-century waterfront industry, then up into Dogpatch, an interesting, Victorian-era working-class residential neighborhood. We also get an intimate look at San Francisco's famous ballpark and the Mission Creek houseboats. This is one of the few flat walks. Ruined pier on China Basin / photo: Teresa Taiclet
